Overview

CMS-D001 is a highly selective, oral small molecule inhibitor of tyrosine-protein kinase 2 (TYK2), a member of the Janus kinase (JAK) family. TYK2 plays a critical role in immune cell signaling by mediating the signal transduction of inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-23 (IL-23), interleukin-12 (IL-12), and type I interferons. By selectively inhibiting TYK2, CMS-D001 blocks these cytokine pathways, thereby suppressing pathological processes involved in autoimmunity and inflammation. The drug is being developed primarily for immune-inflammatory diseases, with an initial focus on plaque psoriasis and broader potential indications including atopic dermatitis and systemic lupus erythematosus. CMS-D001 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy[2][3][4][6][8].
