Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMS-D008 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Shenzhen Kangzhe Biotechnology, a subsidiary of China Medical System Holdings (CMS). It is being investigated for the treatment of obesity and overweight. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, CMS-D008 mimics the action of the endogenous incretin hormone GLP-1, which regulates glucose metabolism and appetite. The drug works by stimulating insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon release, slowing gastric emptying, and increasing satiety through central nervous system signaling. CMS-D008 is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in healthy adults and individuals with overweight or obesity.
