Overview

CMTX-001 is a humanized monoclonal antibody being developed by Clarametyx Biosciences as an adjunctive, immune‑enabling therapy for serious bacterial lung infections, including hospital-acquired and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia. It targets DNABII family proteins that form a universal structural scaffold of bacterial biofilms, rapidly collapsing the biofilm matrix to expose resident bacteria to host immune effectors and co-administered antibiotics, thereby enhancing bacterial clearance and potentially reducing antibiotic resistance and treatment duration.[3][9][13] Initially advanced in preclinical development as CMTX-001 for hospital-acquired pneumonia and later into clinical trials as CMTX-101, the program is focused on difficult‑to‑treat, biofilm‑associated infections such as those in cystic fibrosis and other chronic pulmonary conditions.[1][3][7][9][13]
