Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMV-alphaDC1 is an investigational autologous dendritic cell-based vaccine developed by the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is composed of type 1 polarized dendritic cells (alphaDC1) that have been loaded with peptides derived from the cytomegalovirus (CMV) pp65 protein. The vaccine is designed to prevent CMV reactivation in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (alloHCT) for hematologic malignancies. By presenting CMV-specific antigens in a highly immunostimulatory context, CMV-alphaDC1 aims to prime and expand CMV-specific T-cell populations, thereby restoring protective immunity against the virus in the post-transplant period when patients are most vulnerable to opportunistic infections.
