CMV pp65-LAMP mRNA-pulsed autologous dendritic cells is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine designed for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The therapy consists of patient-derived (autologous) dendritic cells that are pulsed with messenger RNA encoding the human cytomegalovirus (CMV) matrix protein pp65 and lysosome-associated membrane protein (LAMP). This engineering directs the antigen to lysosomes within the dendritic cells, enhancing presentation via MHC-II molecules and stimulating a robust cytotoxic T-cell response against tumor cells expressing CMV pp65. The approach aims to induce a targeted immune attack on glioblastoma while sparing healthy tissue. The therapy is being developed by Immunomic Therapeutics and Celldex Therapeutics and has reached Phase 2 clinical trials in patients with newly diagnosed GBM[1][3][4][5][7].
