CMVPepVax (City of Hope)

CMVPepVax is an investigational chimeric peptide vaccine developed by City of Hope National Medical Center and Helocyte for the prevention and treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT). The vaccine consists of a cytotoxic CD8+ T-cell epitope from the CMV tegument protein pp65 linked to a universal T-helper epitope from tetanus toxin. It is formulated with PF03512676 (also known as CpG 7909), a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist adjuvant, to enhance the cellular immune response. CMVPepVax is specifically designed for HLA-A*0201 positive, CMV-seropositive patients, aiming to stimulate the expansion of CMV-specific T cells to control viral reactivation post-transplant.
