Overview

CMVpp65 TCR refers to T-cell receptors engineered to recognize the 65 kDa phosphoprotein (pp65, also known as UL83) of Cytomegalovirus (CMV). This protein is a major internal matrix protein and a primary target of the host immune response. TCR-engineered T cells targeting CMVpp65 are developed for adoptive immunotherapy to manage CMV infections in immunocompromised patients, such as those receiving hematopoietic stem cell or solid organ transplants. In the context of oncology research, CMVpp65-specific TCRs are often used as irrelevant or negative controls in experiments evaluating the efficacy and specificity of novel TCRs targeting tumor-associated antigens like PRAME.
