CN54ENV is a DNA plasmid vaccine candidate designed to elicit an immune response against the Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1). CN54ENV is frequently investigated as a priming agent in heterologous prime-boost vaccination strategies, used in conjunction with viral vectors like Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA-C) or recombinant protein boosts (such as CN54rgp140) to achieve broader and more potent immunity against HIV-1 clade C, which is prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa and China.
