CN54ENV is an HIV-1 DNA vaccine candidate developed by Ichor Medical Systems in collaboration with Imperial College London. The vaccine consists of a DNA plasmid encoding the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (gp140) derived from the 97CN54 clade C isolate. It is designed to be delivered via intramuscular or intradermal electroporation using Ichor's TriGrid Delivery System (TDS-IM) to enhance cellular uptake and immunogenicity. In clinical study regimens, the vaccine may be co-administered with an interleukin-12 (IL-12) plasmid DNA adjuvant to further boost immune responses and may include a subsequent protein boost with recombinant CN54gp140. The primary goal is to elicit both humoral and cellular immune responses against the HIV envelope protein.
