**CNHK200-mE** is a preclinical, replication-competent oncolytic adenovirus engineered with a deletion of the adenoviral E1B 55 kDa gene and armed to express murine endostatin. The virus was developed as an enhanced ONYX-015-like platform for hepatocellular carcinoma. Its proposed antitumor activity combines preferential replication and lysis of hepatocellular carcinoma cells with local, amplified expression of endostatin, an antiangiogenic protein that suppresses tumor-associated neovascularization. In hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines and SMMC-7721 xenograft models, CNHK200-mE produced selective viral replication, tumor-growth suppression, and inhibition of tumor angiogenesis.
