CNK-UT009 is an allogeneic ("universal") chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD7 antigen. Developed by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in collaboration with Cure-NK, it is designed to deplete CD7-positive cells, which include both malignant T cells and auto-reactive T cells involved in autoimmune pathogenesis. By eliminating these populations, CNK-UT009 aims to restore immune homeostasis in conditions where the immune microenvironment is imbalanced. The therapy is currently being investigated in clinical trials for difficult-to-treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, particularly for patients refractory to multiple biologics. It has also demonstrated preliminary safety and efficacy in patients with steroid-refractory graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), type 1 diabetes mellitus, and certain hematologic malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
