Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CNP-OVA323 is a preclinical antigen-specific immune tolerance candidate developed by Cour Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Northwestern University. It consists of biodegradable poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles encapsulating the OVA323-339 peptide, a CD4+ T-cell epitope derived from chicken ovalbumin. CNP-OVA323 is designed to mimic apoptotic debris, targeting antigen-presenting cells in the liver and spleen to induce immune tolerance. In the RIP-mOVA mouse model of type 1 diabetes, treatment with CNP-OVA323 has been shown to reverse dysglycemia and prevent CD8+ T-cell-mediated autoimmune destruction of beta cells in a regulatory T-cell-dependent manner.
