Overview

CNP-TMZ is a nanoparticle-based drug delivery system developed by SiNON Nano Sciences to enhance the treatment of brain tumors, specifically glioblastoma. The system utilizes a patented Carbon Nano Particle (CNP) platform designed to non-invasively cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), a major obstacle in neuro-oncology. The formulation consists of the alkylating chemotherapy agent temozolomide (TMZ) encapsulated within carbon nanoparticles, which may be further functionalized with arginine (CNP-Arg-TMZ) to improve targeting or penetration. These nanoparticles are engineered to remain stable in systemic circulation and release their therapeutic payload specifically at the tumor site. This targeted approach aims to achieve higher local drug concentrations in the brain while significantly reducing systemic toxicity and side effects associated with conventional temozolomide administration.
