Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CNP-TPT** is a preclinical carbon-nanoparticle formulation of the small-molecule chemotherapy agent topotecan being developed by SiNON Nano Sciences for cancer. The carbon nanoparticle carrier is intended to encapsulate topotecan and improve delivery, stability, controlled release, and therapeutic exposure. Topotecan inhibits DNA topoisomerase I by stabilizing the topoisomerase I-DNA cleavage complex and preventing DNA strand re-ligation, leading to replication-associated DNA damage and tumor-cell death.
