CNP1512 is an investigational, orally administered, highly potent and selective small molecule agonist of the orexin 2 receptor (OX2R). Developed by Centessa Pharmaceuticals, it is designed to address the underlying pathophysiology of Narcolepsy Type 1 (NT1), which is characterized by the loss of orexin-producing neurons in the hypothalamus. By mimicking the action of endogenous orexin-A at the OX2R, CNP1512 aims to restore wakefulness and stabilize sleep-wake cycles. It is being developed as part of Centessa's orexin agonist franchise, following their lead candidate ORX750, with the goal of providing a differentiated profile for patients with narcolepsy and other sleep disorders.
