Overview

CNTX-0066 is a small molecule inhibitor of the tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), currently being developed by Centrexion Therapeutics in partnership with Sanofi. TrkA is the high-affinity receptor for nerve growth factor (NGF), a protein that plays a critical role in the signaling of chronic pain. By inhibiting TrkA, CNTX-0066 aims to provide a targeted, non-opioid approach to managing pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis, potentially avoiding the systemic side effects associated with other NGF-targeting therapies such as anti-NGF monoclonal antibodies.
