CNTY-813 is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapy being developed by Century Therapeutics for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. It consists of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived beta islet cells engineered with the company's proprietary Allo-Evasion™ 5.0 technology. This engineering is designed to protect the transplanted cells from host immune rejection, including NK-cell and antibody-mediated killing, without the need for chronic immunosuppression. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that CNTY-813 can normalize glucose levels in diabetic models, produce human C-peptide, and exhibit mature glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS). An IND submission for the program is anticipated in 2026, with initial clinical data expected in 2027.
