Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CNYX-005 is an orally administered, preclinical-stage peptide-derived therapeutic candidate being developed by Carnyx Therapeutics for the treatment of sleep disorders and sleep regulation. Designed as a proprietary, orally bioavailable analog of the synthetic tetrapeptide Epitalon, CNYX-005 is engineered to overcome the typical digestive degradation of peptides. It acts on the pineal gland to normalize melatonin signaling and restore circadian rhythms. In preclinical studies using aged rat models, administration of CNYX-005 demonstrated an approximately 1.5- to 2-hour increase in total sleep time, driven primarily by an increase in restorative non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, with effects persisting for over a week after the final dose.
