Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Co-Midis is an oral fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication developed by Standard Chem & Pharm. It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor blocker (ARB) and partial peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-gamma) agonist, and amlodipine, a dihydropyridine L-type calcium channel blocker. By combining these two complementary mechanisms of action, Co-Midis effectively promotes vasodilation and reduces peripheral vascular resistance to lower blood pressure. It is approved for the treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy or as replacement therapy for patients already receiving both components separately.
