Coagulation factor VIIa-jncw is a recombinant form of human coagulation factor VIIa, expressed in the mammary gland of genetically engineered rabbits and purified from their milk. It is indicated for the treatment and control of bleeding episodes in adults and adolescents (age 12 and older) with hemophilia A or hemophilia B who have inhibitors (neutralizing antibodies) to factor VIII or IX. By activating the extrinsic coagulation pathway, it promotes hemostasis independent of factors VIII and IX, thus bypassing their inhibitors. The drug is not indicated for congenital factor VII deficiency. The primary adverse risk is arterial and venous thrombosis, and patients with additional thrombosis risk factors require close monitoring. The product is contraindicated in those with known allergy to rabbits or rabbit proteins. Sevenfact is developed and manufactured by Hema Biologics/LFB[2][3][4][5][7].
