Coagulation factor X human is a plasma-derived protein used to treat and prevent bleeding episodes in patients with hereditary factor X deficiency. It is indicated for both adults and children. Factor X is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease produced in the liver that plays a central role in the blood coagulation cascade by converting prothrombin to thrombin. In patients with hereditary deficiency—a rare autosomal recessive disorder—replacement therapy with this product restores hemostasis by supplying functional clotting protein derived from screened healthy donors. The drug is administered intravenously and has demonstrated high efficacy in controlling bleeding episodes and preventing surgical bleeding[1][2][3][4][5][8].
