Overview

Cobamamide, also known as coenzyme B12 or dibencozide, is a small molecule and the active coenzyme form of vitamin B12. Developed and manufactured by Guilin Hwasun as an oral capsule, it is used primarily for its metabolic and neuroprotective properties. Unlike cyanocobalamin, cobamamide does not require hepatic conversion to become biologically active. It serves as an essential cofactor for enzymes such as methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, which is critical for the metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids, and the synthesis of hemoglobin. It is clinically indicated for the treatment of megaloblastic anemia, peripheral neuropathies, and various metabolic disorders associated with vitamin B12 deficiency.
