Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cocos nucifera flower extract is a botanical extract derived from the inflorescence of the coconut palm (*Cocos nucifera*). It is rich in bioactive phytochemicals, including phenols, flavonoids, tannins, and saponins, which contribute to its significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. In preclinical models of Alzheimer's disease, the extract has been shown to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and reduce oxidative stress, leading to improvements in learning and memory. Additionally, it has demonstrated potential antidiabetic activity through the inhibition of alpha-amylase.
