Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CodaVax (specifically CodaVax-H1N1) is a live-attenuated influenza vaccine developed by Codagenix using its proprietary Synthetic Attenuated Virus Engineering (SAVE) platform. The platform utilizes a computer algorithm to recode the viral genome through codon deoptimization, introducing hundreds of mutations that use naturally non-preferred codons. This process attenuates the virus while maintaining all native antigens, aiming to elicit broad cellular and humoral immune responses without causing disease. Administered intranasally, CodaVax-H1N1 is designed to provide protection against divergent H1N1 strains and is produced via cell-based manufacturing, bypassing the limitations of egg-based production.
