Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Codimex CT is a generic antihistamine product developed and manufactured by Regal Pharmaceuticals in Kenya. Its active ingredient is cetirizine dihydrochloride (10mg), a long-acting, non-sedating piperazine derivative that acts as a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist. The drug is formulated as white, oval-shaped film-coated tablets for oral administration. It is primarily used for the symptomatic relief of allergic conditions, including allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and chronic urticaria. Additionally, it is indicated for managing symptoms associated with colds and flus, such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and blocked nose, as well as various allergic skin conditions. Cetirizine also exhibits some mast-cell stabilizing activity, contributing to its anti-allergic profile.
