Overview

Codrituzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets glypican‑3 (GPC3), an oncofetal protein highly expressed on the surface of certain tumor cells, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma. By binding to GPC3, codrituzumab triggers antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), recruiting immune effector cells such as natural killer (NK) cells to induce tumor cell death. The drug has been primarily investigated for advanced or metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma and is not approved for marketing. Codrituzumab was originally developed by Perseus Proteomics and further developed by Chugai Pharmaceutical and Roche[1][5][7].
