Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Coenzyme complex is a pharmaceutical preparation, often administered intravenously, consisting of a combination of various coenzymes and other bioactive substances, typically extracted from yeast. It is currently being investigated for its effects on bispectral index (BIS) and recovery quality during the emergence period from general anesthesia in elderly patients undergoing abdominal cholecystectomy. Coenzymes are essential organic molecules that act as cofactors for enzymes, facilitating numerous biochemical reactions by transferring chemical groups, electrons, or providing reactive groups, thereby enhancing cellular metabolism and energy production. This type of complex is also used to improve metabolic functions, such as myocardial metabolism and liver function, and as an adjuvant therapy in various conditions.
