Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cohealyx is a bioengineered collagen-based dermal matrix designed for the management of full-thickness wounds. It is composed of purified Type I and Type III collagen derived from young bovine dermis and utilizes proprietary TetraPure Technology to achieve an ideal pore structure for cellular infiltration and revascularization. The matrix provides a scaffold that supports rapid cellular migration and blood vessel formation, enabling accelerated wound bed integration—often within 5 to 10 days—compared to conventional dermal matrices. This facilitates earlier readiness for autografting or definitive closure in two-stage wound repair procedures. Clinical studies have demonstrated that use of Cohealyx can reduce time to graft readiness, hospital stays, and overall patient burden while improving functional recovery outcomes. The product received FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2024 and was co-developed by AVITA Medical with Regenity Biosciences[1][3][4][5][6][7][9].
