COL10A1 small interfering RNA lentivirus is an experimental gene therapy agent designed to silence the expression of the collagen type X alpha 1 chain (COL10A1). It utilizes a lentiviral vector to deliver small interfering RNA (siRNA) or short hairpin RNA (shRNA) that specifically targets and promotes the degradation of COL10A1 mRNA. COL10A1 is a member of the collagen family that is frequently overexpressed in various human cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC), where it is associated with adverse prognosis and overall survival. By knocking down COL10A1, this agent inhibits tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and suppresses the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that knockdown of COL10A1 using this lentiviral construct can inhibit tumorigenesis in vivo, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment.
