COLD-FX First Signs is an over-the-counter botanical supplement and natural health product marketed by Bausch + Lomb Corporation. It is specifically formulated for administration at the first onset of cold or flu symptoms to reduce their severity and duration. The product's primary active ingredient is CVT-E002, a proprietary, chemically standardized extract of North American ginseng (*Panax quinquefolius*) root rich in poly-furanosyl-pyranosyl-saccharides. Unlike many other ginseng products, CVT-E002 is processed to exclude ginsenosides. The 'First Signs' formulation is a combination product that also includes zinc, andrographis, and echinacea, which are intended to provide additional immune support and symptomatic relief for sore throat, fever, and cough. It is licensed by Health Canada for use in adults and children aged 12 and older.
