**Colgate Total Clean Mint** is a marketed Colgate-Palmolive over-the-counter toothpaste formulation for prevention of dental caries, gingivitis, plaque-associated oral disease, and dentin sensitivity. The United States product is labeled with **stannous fluoride 0.454%**, equivalent to 0.15% fluoride ion, as its active ingredient. Fluoride supports enamel remineralization and resistance to acid-mediated demineralization, while stannous fluoride provides broad antibacterial activity against plaque-associated oral bacteria. It is supplied as a dental paste for twice-daily toothbrushing. A registered clinical study also evaluated this product for short-term reduction of SARS-CoV-2 viral load in the oral cavity, but the product is not intended or approved to prevent, treat, or cure COVID-19.
