Colircusí Gentadexa

Colircusí Gentadexa is an ophthalmic topical formulation developed and marketed by the Portuguese pharmaceutical company DÁVI. It is a fixed-dose combination containing the aminoglycoside antibiotic gentamicin, the corticosteroid dexamethasone sodium phosphate, and the vasoconstrictor tetrizoline hydrochloride. Gentamicin provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity by binding to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit and inhibiting protein synthesis. Dexamethasone acts as a potent anti-inflammatory agent by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, thereby reducing the production of inflammatory mediators and stabilizing cell membranes. Tetrizoline is an alpha-adrenergic agonist that constricts conjunctival blood vessels to provide symptomatic relief of ocular congestion and redness. This product is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the ocular surface (such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, and blepharitis) when accompanied by significant inflammation.
