Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Collagen-PVP + methotrexate is a combination therapy used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Collagen-PVP is a biodrug made from porcine type I collagen combined with polyvinylpyrrolidone, while methotrexate is a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) that acts as an immunosuppressant. Clinical studies have shown that this combination is more efficacious than methotrexate alone, allowing for lower doses of methotrexate while maintaining or improving efficacy. The combination has demonstrated significant improvements in various rheumatoid arthritis metrics including swollen joint count, Ritchie index, morning stiffness, and disease activity scores.
