Approved in China as a National Class 1 new drug, it is a biologic enzyme designed for wound management and debridement. The drug functions by selectively degrading collagen, a major structural component of the extracellular matrix, within necrotic or devitalized tissue. By breaking down these collagen fibers, the enzyme facilitates the removal of debris from wounds, such as chronic ulcers or burns, without damaging healthy tissue, thereby promoting the natural healing process. While collagenase is frequently used in topical ointment forms, this specific product is formulated as an injection for targeted enzymatic debridement.
