Collagran Ag

Collagran Ag is an advanced bioactive wound dressing that combines a bovine-derived collagen matrix with the antimicrobial properties of silver. The collagen component acts as a sacrificial substrate for matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are often elevated in chronic wounds and can impede the healing process by degrading growth factors and the extracellular matrix. By modulating the wound environment and providing a structural scaffold, the collagen promotes fibroblast migration and tissue regeneration. The integrated silver provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity by releasing silver ions that disrupt bacterial cell membranes, respiratory chains, and DNA replication, thereby reducing bioburden and preventing infection. It is primarily indicated for the management of chronic and acute wounds, including pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and surgical wounds.
