**CollaStat** is a sterile, resorbable, flowable collagen-thrombin surgical hemostatic matrix developed by Dalim Tissen for local control of intraoperative bleeding when conventional methods such as ligation, suturing, or cautery are ineffective or impractical. The dual-syringe system combines porcine-derived atelocollagen and bovine thrombin with a calcium chloride solution immediately before topical application. Collagen absorbs blood and expands to provide a mechanical tamponade matrix and promote platelet adhesion, while thrombin converts fibrinogen to fibrin to accelerate clot formation.
