Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Colloidal oatmeal cream with biomimetic lipid combination and beta glucan (marketed as Epidrat Atop) is a topical dermo-cosmetic formulation developed by Mantecorp Skincare (Hypera Pharma) for the management of atopic dermatitis (AD). The product combines 1% colloidal prebiotic oatmeal, which supports the skin microbiome and provides anti-inflammatory benefits, with a biomimetic lipid technology (including ceramides) to restore the skin's physical barrier. The addition of beta-glucan further enhances the cream's soothing and immunomodulatory properties. Clinical studies, including data presented at the AAD 2024 Annual Meeting, have demonstrated that the cream significantly improves clinical scores such as SCORAD and POEM, increases skin hydration, and reduces the relative abundance of *Staphylococcus aureus* on the skin of multi-ethnic patients with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.
