Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Collomak** is a topical solution containing **salicylic acid (2% w/w)**, **lactic acid (0.5% w/w)**, and **polidocanol (0.2% w/w)** formulated for the treatment of warts, corns, and calluses. It acts as a keratolytic agent: salicylic acid softens and dissolves keratin to promote peeling of hyperkeratotic tissue; lactic acid reduces hyperkeratosis, induces epidermolysis to destroy wart tissue and virus; polidocanol serves as a local anesthetic to minimize pain during application. Originally developed by **Heinrich Mack Nachf (Germany)**, it is applied daily to affected areas after soaking in warm water, with treatment durations up to 12 weeks for warts. Systemic absorption is low (9-25% for salicylic acid), and it is marketed in regions including Nigeria by **Smart way Pharma** and manufactured by **October Pharma S.A.E. (Egypt)**.[1][3][4][6]
