Combiklas

Combiklas is a total parenteral nutrition (TPN) product developed and marketed by Alniche Life Sciences. It is provided as a sterile, hypertonic emulsion for intravenous administration via a central venous line, utilizing a specialized three-chamber bag system with a Non-PVC design. This system separates its components into three compartments: one containing dextrose solution for fluid and caloric replenishment, a second containing a solution of essential and nonessential amino acids with electrolytes, and a third containing Intralipid 20% (a lipid injectable emulsion) to provide essential fatty acids and concentrated calories. Combiklas is indicated for patients who require parenteral nutrition when the gastrointestinal tract is non-functional, inaccessible, or unable to provide adequate nutrition through oral or enteral routes, often due to conditions such as short gut syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, peritonitis, or gastrointestinal tumors.
