Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The combined herbal capsule (CHC) is a nutritional supplement composed of a mixture of powdered herbal products, including Cinnamomum, Berberis vulgaris fruit, Galega officinalis leaves, Vaccinium bracteatum thumb leaves, and Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds. It is designed to improve glycemic indices (fasting blood sugar, two hours postprandial blood sugar, and glycosylated hemoglobin) and lipid profiles (triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol) in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and associated dyslipidemia. The individual components contribute to its anti-diabetic and anti-lipidemic effects through various mechanisms, such as regulating blood glucose, improving insulin sensitivity, and modulating lipid metabolism.
