Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Combined mitochondrial nutraceutical therapy is an oral combination regimen consisting of multiple mitochondrial-targeting agents and antioxidants designed to alleviate fatigue and depression in people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). The therapy comprises nine daily capsules containing N-acetylcysteine (NAC), acetyl-L-carnitine, coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), alpha-lipoic acid, and a combination of essential vitamins (including vitamins B1, B2, B3, B9, biotin, C, and E). By providing key cofactors for the mitochondrial electron transport chain and enhancing antioxidant capacity (such as increasing glutathione levels), this combination supports neuronal energy production, mitigates oxidative stress, and improves neuronal integrity, thereby addressing the pathophysiological drivers of MS-related fatigue.
