Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Combizym + bifidobacterium is a combination product consisting of digestive enzymes (as found in the branded product Combizym) and probiotic bacteria from the genus Bifidobacterium. Combizym contains pancreatin (lipase, protease, amylase) and additional fungal-derived enzymes (cellulase, protease, amylase from Aspergillus oryzae), used to aid digestion in cases of enzyme deficiency or digestive disorders[7]. Bifidobacterium is a probiotic microorganism that helps restore intestinal flora balance and may prevent gastrointestinal disturbances such as post-antibiotic diarrhea[4]. The combination aims to support both enzymatic digestion and gut microbiota health. Clinical studies have evaluated this combination for prevention of colon polyp recurrence and for improving dyspepsia symptoms[1][5].
