Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Comboprofen is a combination drug comprising Ibuprofen, Magnesium, and Vitamin C, developed for the treatment of muscular pain associated with Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). Ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. Magnesium contributes to pain relief by acting as an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist and by influencing muscle relaxation. Vitamin C, an essential antioxidant, helps mitigate oxidative stress, supports tissue repair, and is crucial for collagen synthesis, all of which are beneficial for muscle recovery and reducing soreness.
