Comekibart is a humanized monoclonal antibody that functions as an interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4Rα) inhibitor. Developed by Hunan Mabgeek Biotechnology Co., Ltd., it targets the IL-4Rα, thereby blocking the signaling of both interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13). These cytokines are central to T₂-mediated immune responses, which are implicated in various allergic and inflammatory conditions. The drug is currently in advanced stages of development for multiple indications, including moderate to severe atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, asthma, and eosinophilic oesophagitis. It is noted for its potential for a long-acting, once every four weeks (Q4W) dosing regimen, which could enhance patient adherence.
