The component pertussis-diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (Component DPT) is a trivalent subunit vaccine developed by the Chongqing Institute of Biological Products, a subsidiary of Zhifei. It is designed to prevent three major infectious diseases: pertussis (whooping cough), diphtheria, and tetanus. The vaccine is manufactured by purifying and detoxifying specific antigens of *Bordetella pertussis*, including pertussis toxin, which are then blended with diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and formulated with an aluminum adjuvant. This component-based approach is intended to elicit protective antibody responses against the toxins and bacterial antigens of *Bordetella pertussis*, *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*, and *Clostridium tetani*, potentially offering a more refined safety profile compared to whole-cell vaccines.
