Overview

Compound 066 is a synthetic chalcone derivative identified as a potent antiproliferative agent against ovarian cancer. Developed through 3D-QSAR modeling (CoMFA and CoMSIA) and validated experimentally, it demonstrates significant growth-inhibitory activity against the A2780 ovarian cancer cell line. Its mechanism of action involves the induction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the upregulation of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), which leads to increased intracellular glutathione levels. Notably, this induction occurs independently of the canonical Nrf2 signaling pathway. The compound is particularly effective against chemoresistant ovarian cancer models, making it a promising candidate for further oncological drug development.
