Overview

Compound 070 is an experimental chalcone-based small molecule inhibitor developed for the treatment of ovarian cancer, specifically targeting chemoresistant strains such as the A2780 cell line. Identified through 3D-QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship) modeling and validated through experimental assays, Compound 070 acts as a potent antiproliferative agent. Its primary mechanism of action involves binding to the colchicine site of tubulin, which inhibits microtubule polymerization and induces cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase. Additionally, the compound triggers the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative stress and the activation of apoptotic pathways. It was developed by academic researchers as a potential lead for new antineoplastic therapies to address late-stage diagnosis and frequent chemoresistance in ovarian malignancies.
