Compound 075 is an experimental chalcone-based small molecule identified through 3D-QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship) modeling and molecular docking studies as a potent inhibitor of ovarian cancer cells. It demonstrates significant antiproliferative activity against the A2780 ovarian cancer cell line, including strains that exhibit chemoresistance. The compound's primary mechanism of action involves the induction of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), which triggers mitochondrial dysfunction, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, and subsequent activation of the apoptotic pathway. Additionally, compound 075 has been shown to induce cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase. As a member of the chalcone chemical class, it is also hypothesized to act by inhibiting tubulin polymerization, further contributing to its antineoplastic effects. It is currently in the preclinical discovery and validation stage.
