Overview

Compound 18 is an optimized N-Phenylpropenoyl-l-amino acid derivative that functions as a potent and selective inhibitor of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). It demonstrates high blood-brain barrier permeability and directly binds to iNOS. Preclinical studies have shown that Compound 18 exerts preventive and therapeutic effects in acute and chronic Parkinson's disease models by alleviating and repairing damaged dopaminergic neurons. Its favorable pharmacokinetic profile and low toxicity position it as a promising candidate for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
