Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound 28 is an orally bioavailable small molecule that functions as a glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) inhibitor. It has been investigated for its therapeutic potential in cancer, particularly in combination with CDK4/6 inhibitors such as palbociclib. By inhibiting GPX4, Compound 28 induces ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death, in cancer cells. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to reduce tumor sizes in xenograft models when administered alongside palbociclib.
